The Wrestlecrap Book of Lists from ECW Press which was released this past December is quite possibly the wrestling book that was specifically designed for me to read and enjoy. Anyone who has heard or read my opinions over the years know that I love to hate the randomness and jobberness that the wrestling world has to offer. On top of that I’ve never been one to sit down for an extended period of time and read a book, Luckily for me and perhaps for some of you, the point of this book is not to read large passages at one time, but instead to grab the book, enjoy a few lists, and come back to it whenever you get another free moment. As discussed with co-author and creator of the Wrestlecrap website RD Reynolds during our interview with him in December, One of the first things that came to mind when I heard about the book is questioning why anyone would pay for a compiled collection of top 10 lists, but this book packs much more than meets the eye. In many ways this is a wrestling history lesson as each entry in the lists, whether it be comedy based, or serious, gives you all the info you need to know about it which is what impressed me most about the book. Reynolds, who co-authored the book with long time friend Blade Braxton, gives us a truly unique collection of lists, some of which are obvious (The things wrestling fans should never have to witness again), some of which are hilarious (Top 10 Perms in the wrestling business), and others which are just out of this world (Top 6 pieces of evidence that prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that pro wrestling hates christmas ) . One of our favorites had to be the top 6 wrestlers who must have a reality show as we’ve made it no secret in the entertainment of sports entertainment reports that we enjoy when wrestlers make a joke of themselves on TV. Coming in at just over 350 pages, the book of lists climaxes with a look at the 25 worst gimmicks of all time and overall is just an enjoyable read for any hardcore wrestling fan. The Wrestlecrap Book Of Lists is available now from ECW Press. For more information head over to www.ecwpress.com or www.wrestlecrap.com . The book goes for $19.95, but you can always bargain hunt as its also on all major book retailer websites.
